Winter weddings are often overlooked or quickly dismissed, but there are many reasons to reconsider the season for your special day. This bridal styled shoot with one of my old friends was in the middle of a winter storm, but the results are beautiful.
We wandered around the main stretch of Mount Lebanon, just south of downtown Pittsburgh. The area had churches of all shapes and sizes scattered within reasonable walking distance, making it the perfect place for photos. Because it was cold, we made sure to shoot on a Sunday afternoon. This meant the church doors were all unlocked, but nobody was inside- perfect to warm up in between shots. It helped that my model was incredibly patient and an excellent actress. After all, she had to pretend not to be freezing cold all day!
If you have the chance to attend or photograph a winter wedding, I highly recommend it. The gorgeous snowflakes and even light make it a unique, heavenly atmosphere for such a special day.
